29.04.2009 00:01 | August, 2008. The survivors tell as it was.
Gabatova Rosa Nikolaevna, born in 1949., the resident of settlement Znaur, Znaursky area of RSO.
We live in a suburb of settlement Znaur. My husband works as a security guard in the kindergarten. I work in that kindergarten for 42 years too.
On August, when all this just began, we were here. In the morning of August, 8 we heard the terrible rumble. It was a rumble of military hardware – APC, tanks, etc. I didn1t understand what had happened at first and then I heard their singing. They were singing loudly any marches in Georgian.
I was very frightened: “Well, that’s all - they will kill us!” We changed our clothes for black one. Let them wear the clothes of this color only during all their life! They began to shoot. And then they walked along the streets and shouted that all the Georgians lived in the village could go out, they won’t touch them.
But I am no fool too. “I’ll go with them. They will sure not kill them” – I said to myself. And I went with these Georgians. I took the child next door with me and went with local Georgians. And at that time their soldiers were shooting at our houses, at the kindergarten. They were shooting at the people. And the child said to me: “Oh, they’ll kill us now too. I am afraid, ma'am Rosa!” I was holding him very tightly. I tried to reassure him. It was terrible!..

30.03.2009 22:54 | Georgian soldiers left them to die
74-year-old Anisim Dzhagaev lived with his wife in a private house on Kulaeva Street.
During the heavy shelling of the city from the Georgian positions they were in the house. They don`t have a basement to be hidden, and they didn’t go to the neighbours, because Anisim`s wife Chyznal can hardly move, she is the invalid of the first group.
As their daughter Dzerassa told (she knows about the tragedy from the mother’s words), on August, 9 the next house, where two single women lived, lighted up in result of the shell hit. Anisim helped them to extinguish fire, but they didn’t manage to put out fire by their small forces. They only managed to take furnishing out of the house. In a few minutes after the house caught fire, the shell of “Zrad” rocket system hit the roof of Dzhagaev`s house and it began to burn too.
Anisim tried to stop the fire growing, tried to extinguish it at once. With a pailful of water he walked up the exterior stair to the attic. At that time the next shell hit the house and exploded with a roar. Anisim was on the stair and the splinter hit his leg, his leg war nearly torn off. Anisim managed to slip downwards. The wound was bleeding, he began to lose consciousness. His sick wife wasn’t in condition to give her husband necessary aid; with her infirm hands she couldn’t dress the wound in his leg to stop a bleeding. She screamed for help, but nobody answered.

25.02.2009 10:10 | O. Kudukhov: “The West Cannot Hide the Truth Any More”
“The Europe learned about the tragedy of South Ossetia. The West cannot hide the truth any more and tends to a recognition of our correctness”, - said Oleg Kudukhov, the coordinator of the National Forum “Ossetia accuses”, on October, 16th for RIA "News" at the press conference, devoted to the book’s publication.
As Kudukhov noted, the active members of "The National forum" were holding the pickets in Strasbourg and Warsaw during the representation of this book there. As he said, many people took part in the pickets including the ethnic Frenchmen and Germans and also the representatives of Ossetian Diaspora.
As also Kudukhov has told, his compatriots had complaints to Europeans. In particular, it is proved that OSCE mission and the Red Cross, which worked in Tskhinval left South Ossetia in the rush a few days before the beginning of the war.
“It means, the Georgian representation of OSCE knew about the attack and warned their people about it”, - Kudukhov made such a conclusion. And the Ossetians are worried about only one thing in this situation: why had they not been warned too? Why didn’t Europeans try to interfere with the conflict?
Alexander Brod, Paul Astakhov, Sergey Ryakhovsky, the members of Public Chamber, and Natalia Rykova, an executive director of the Moscow bureau on human rights also participated in press-conference.
Paul Astakhov, in particular, has told: “According to the international law, there are no resolutions which can limit the right to answer if you have struck”. "The only impression of Strasbourg’s reaction is - utter barefaced cynicism”, - Ryakhovsky has declared.
